Put "Buddy System" on signs on trails. Many safety rules on the etiquette signs leave out the most important: Buddy System. Men with guns use back up. Women are alone on the trails in the USA w/no reminders to use the Buddy System. Police/military/hunters know back up makes a difference. The last women's magazine with useful information about how to use the Buddy System was in Cosmopolitan 2009. Did violence against women stop enough for us to end telling women about back up, 2 in 2 out, I got your back? No institution tells women to use the Buddy System. How much thought do you need for the Buddy System?

Look how much thought Scuba Divers give to the Buddy System. How much thought do you give to the Buddy System? As many as 7% of all rapes happen in parking lots. How many abductions happen in parking lots? How can you be safer? 

Women need to leave the store with other women or ask an employee to walk to the car with you if it isn't busy. Talk to other women in the parking lot. Most women do not abduct, molest, rape or mug. Make the world friendlier and safer by saying hello to women and look around sometimes!

Scuba Diving magazines have an article in every issue for the Buddy System. This is a mostly man's magazine. 50% of all divers are not women by any means.

Going on trips alone

When you get on a train or another mode of public transportation (planes, trains, helicopters, buses) look for another woman to sit with. If she gets off, go to another part of the train with women. Don't stand around with men and expect them to be on their best behavior at the other end of the train.

When you are alone this week at home or in your car, yell "FIRE" to practice. If one day someone attacks you, this will not be the last thing you think of doing. Practice yelling "FIRE!" every day once or twice when you are alone. If you have a family, tell your children to yell "FIRE" to help your family practice. Many people won't remember because "FIRE" is illegal to yell in a public place when you are just standing around. It is OK to yell when you are being hurt/mugged/raped/abducted, did you know that???? Yes indeed!

Do you have a story of asking someone

  to go with you somewhere? How many times do people say no because they don't think anyone will hurt you because we are in such a safe place?

Look at Crimereports.com to find the crime in your area. If you don't want anything to happen to you, then you go to public places with no history of crime. That means the guy who wants to go to a gym calls the shots because he doesn't want to go for a walk in the woods. This is why we need to find friends who will walk with us. 

One alternative is to go to a bench near the trail you will walk on and wait for someone who would like someone to walk with you. Yes, you can wait for someone to walk or ride with you. I saw it over and over again at the Silver Comet Trail. I show up and tell people they are safer with someone else, two men are sitting with me, and they don't know each other, and they leave with each other to protect each other. It happens. Wait for someone to walk with you on trail. Speak to other women in parking lots. They will look out for you if you are nice and acknowledge them. They will remember you if you are abducted. There are reasons we need each other.

Buddy System stickers for cell phones

No one comments on my posts, so I do not expect spam or abuse.

Today I went to another church. A Church of God called West Metro. The music was full of praise and there were people filled with the spirit praisging God. The pastor made comments about following God. He didn't mention the cross, persecution, sexism, martyrdom, or suffering at all. It was depressing that ministry is so easy for him and the worst thing he has to consider is whether someone will make meatballs or pound cake for him or others. 

One person did talk to me about the autoharp from the music ministry. A leader who teaches music. I gave him the info about Autoharp Angels and people who cannot afford a musical instrument getting an autoharp that is donated. I then had a chance to show a young woman what an autoharp sounds like, and played it for her. Her Mom was there and she called me Hon. The young woman was excited I told her about it and the price. I said it cost $400, and then she would not need lessons. She could pluck, strum and read the ABCs of guitar/uke/banjo/autoharp tabs/chords, and she could have picks so she never needed blisters and callouses on her fingers. If I had gone to Sunday School, I would have been more cheerful and happy at the end of it. If you get a chance read Post Traumatic Church Syndrome. That is why this year I will go to a different church this year every Sunday.

     Hobbies that make our world better for each one of us are back to the basics. Cooper's Lowrey  Organ Center is offering piano lessons for 10 weeks for $19.99. Two dollars a lesson? Pretty impressive! Will someone become a wonderful musician in 10 weeks? Nope. The benefit is using the mind so the person is not demented. People with dementia are demented. When do people become demented? When they are young it begins. Keep the brain active and use the Buddy System 4 2!

The difference with molestation and the Buddy System? Could it be that people care with molestation if it happened to them. The people who don't use the Buddy System may not care.

How safe do you think you are

     Today I took my car into a dealership to get the gas sensor fixed. I made the mistake of telling some of the people at the business I wrote Murder on the Silver Comet Trail. I talked to him about one of the causes murder, which is porn and rape. Is that the reason no one looked at the car today? I don't know. There is a chance that I am risking my safety or life by being honest about what I wrote and telling people I don't know that I am trying to change the world by telling women to use the Buddy System.

I want to make the world safer. Is that possible with men? Can men make a difference? I hope so.

Where is my Buddy System Sign?

      I spent $40 on a sign that says BUDDY SYSTEM. 

Where could that sign be?

If a woman blacks out when she is drinking, and she is raped, how bad does that look for her? If a woman is drugged with a rape drug to make her pass out, how bad does that make her look? What if she had someone with her watching her glass so that she would be safer? What if both women had weapons and knew self defense?

Why do young adults go to parties with a large number of men? Has anyone told these women what to expect from young men?

Has anyone struggled to find a speaker for school or church or Rotary?

    Yes, sometimes I speak. I was an adjunct faculty member at Mercer University for more than 4 years, a preschool teacher, a substitute teacher, a chaplain, and a visiting minister to several churches. I am an ordained Southern Baptist minister who preached in many hospitals and nursing homes and never in a Southern Baptist church. They never asked me and I am not forward. 

I would like to speak about the Buddy System. It is a game changer.  So far everything that revolves around men teaches men the Buddy System. Nothing that revolves around women teaches/pushes/stresses/requires a Buddy System. 

I have ideas about how to change that. Ask me to be a speaker. My fee is any donation people will give when asked!!! I have been promised donations and then no one was asked to donate and I received nothing for my time and effort. I want a better outcome for something that needs more exposure. What could I do with resources? Give me a list and I will tell you how to change the game so women are safer.

Could I be wrong?

  I believe that mostly men see the calendar for the Sheriff of Paulding County. I have been buying an ad for years and look how many followers here there are? If there are 3000 calendars, or even 300, I would think there would be more followers for the Buddy System 42!  

What will I do with the money instead? Every time I go to a conference, whether DragonCon or SupernaturalCon or Conjuration, it costs $50 to walk in the door, and then the gas and food and outfit costs something. I only need one business card. The one below.

Buddy System Sign

  When I go to conferences I take a sign that encourages people to use the Buddy System. I was in Florida and Brittany grabbed me and said, "I want a picture with you!" and she loves the idea. Bring a friend! Victim blaming is not going to help anyone. Instead show some care and go with your friends when they ask to go shopping.

When you are using the  Buddy System, you have to put effort into it. You have to invite friends to help you and come with you so that you both keep each other safer. When people say no, and they will, go on to someone else, or find avenues for help. Be persuasive and tell people it helps them and it helps you. Now, when you want to help people, there are many ways to help people to make a difference. Show them some self defense. Tell them about Poncho Power, a pay it forward ministry of giving someone who is sick, pregnant (breast feeding) something for free. You don't have to make money for everything you do.

Meet me at the Police Station

   I  asked someone I had never met to meet me at the police station. I traveled 180 miles one way, met him at the police station, and bought an autoharp from him that I will work on for a while. He argued with me about meeting him at a police station. The man was a pastor and retired policeman. He agreed to meet me there. I had to convince him that it was to protect women to meet them at the police station. He said the crime is different in Augusta than in Atlanta. 

Women, when you buy from the internet, make your meeting place the police station. Don't go to a parking lot. Where do you think most people are mugged and sometimes abducted? Not in the police station parking lot.

A new Go Fund Me

    Nyamiye Hermenegilde, MD says that women sometimes are raped in the latrines the people have now. I don't know what best can change that besides the Buddy System in Burundi, on the continent of Africa. I have a Go Fund Me for Burundi Latrines. Look for it please. Lights, locks and cameras won't stop rape. Safety awareness, the Buddy System and self defense are major deterrents.

  I don't get speaking engagements. I don't have the money to buy a "booth" since I don't ask/beg/work for fund raising. The stuff I do is mostly "pay it forward" kind of stuff. I have asked to be a speaker in churches. Every once in a while people want someone with a message like mine. The last place I asked said my ministry would be talked about last, after all the important stuff was done. Sigh. 

Jimmy Carter said in his Ted Talk that "men don't give a damn." He won't change men by saying that, will he? Viktor Frankle said that in crabbing when you fly an airplane, you have to aim higher on latitude to get to the place you want if you are flying in cross winds. Violence in the world is mainly male violence. Sure women are violent to children, but the violence from men is so much more than the violence from women. How do we help the world? Help men how?? They are training themselves with porn, and paying to be trained to be crud like people.

Cuddle Park or Cuddle Harp

     At Piedmont Park I will be letting people play my autoharp as a means to be more affectionate. You get to hug an autoharp, and maybe learn enough to become a musician. I will teach one song that will make you laugh.

Paulding Meadows Arts & Crafts Festival

I played my first Art's and Crafts Festival! I met many people who played autoharp with me, including a wonderful family with 5 boys, and 2 young veterans, 2 men whose houses burned down, and people who had experience with autoharp. 

It was so fun to play with people and once in a while talk about the Buddy System! Many people talked to me were Christians and we talked about Jesus too.

Buddy System signs

 Who cares if signs are on the Silver Comet Trail marking that wearing a helmet may be saving just as many lives as using the Buddy System? Because having the helmet on the sign doesn't make more people wear helmets. Or does it?

The Buddy System is in the literature for every organization that involves mostly men/males from law enforcement and military to fishing and hunting. What organization that is mainly women/female has the Buddy System in the literature? Schools, churches and hospitals employees are primarily 85% female at these three institutions.

Women cannot become too fat, wrinkled or old to be safer. We need the Buddy System, safety awareness and some self defense.

4 Free Walking Sticks tomorrow at the Silver Comet Trail at 10

 Tomorrow at 10 on Sunday the 23 of August I will be at the 2 benches at Depot and Seaboard Drive. I plan to go for a 15 minute walk on the Silver Comet Trail. I will be telling stories about my experiences on the Silver Comet Trail. You will still have time to go to church after our walk.

Last week I signed up for a table at the Paulding Meadows event September 10. That whole weekend will be at Paulding Meadows with a table talking about the Buddy System. Do you have any suggestions?  Ms. Franklin won!  It was late and she already plays lead guitar! The Buddy System is important for women. I hope she calls up friends and her husband also uses the Buddy System with her. Mothers' Day

 How much time do you spend alone? How much do you think mothers spend alone? Some mothers need more time and some mothers need less time. Some mothers need friends. 

Women going through the trials of motherhood may not have anyone who can relate. That is why I wrote my first book. Please tell someone about this book. It might help someone who leaves the church sobbing. It might help someone who is in pain.

   Vixen are fox in plural. What does the fox say? Ylvis. I just learned about them recently. Two guys who are on television and on Youtube and who sing to the Prime Minister of Norway and who are on television in New York. 

What will it take for women to start telling each other to use the Buddy System? Is it important that Girl Scouts and Brownies don't have a patch/badge for the Buddy System? Is it important that churches, hospitals, and schools don't have the Buddy System in their literature for women? What will it take for women to wake up and realize that men know the importance of the Buddy System, so it will help them?

   I have talked to preachers about the Buddy System and women, and they ask me, "what do you mean?" And then they never preach about the Buddy System or promote the Buddy System for women, or let anyone else preach or teach or speak about the Buddy System.

Ask your preacher to preach on going 2 by 2, and using the Buddy System like Luke 10:1. Ask your preacher to make a difference with crime against women.

​ The silver King trombone hangs alone at the new Music Guru store​ in Hiram on 92. My father bought it for top dollar after his first heart attack. He was so proud that he only paid $2000.00 for it. I had the brilliant idea that I would have a drawing and help Music Guru with exposure. The drawing is April 30 at 3:00 pm.

The trombone is to help the nonprofit Fear Thou Not, which does a few ministries including education for women about the Buddy System, and Poncho Power. We cannot get too old, too wrinkled, fat and ugly to be safer. We need to be alert (Holy Spirit for some), use the Buddy System and use self defense. Women who use the Buddy System are less likely to be targets of violence. Women who are making ponchos for women to breast feed or for women with breast cancer are empowering themselves to directly help someone, instead of donating and never seeing where it goes. The idea comes from the movie "Pay it Forward" with Kevin Spacey and Helen Hunt to directly help people. You are not just giving a dollar for this drawing. Someone will win a trombone.

The Buddy System is about women walking together in places that are isolated or crowded. Having someone to watch your back is commonly found in the literature that  revolves around men. Fishing, hunting, scuba and sky diving, kayaking, military, law enforcement, and other mostly male organizations, (including the Boy Scouts "Patch" for the Buddy System) all ingrain the Buddy System into males everywhere. There is no sign on the Silver Comet Trail saying to use the Buddy System. Too many women still walk, run, ride, skate alone on the Silver Comet Trail.

Most women don't realize that it is a warrior's tool to have someone watch your back, and to keep you covered. There are many cries for independence, and there are women upset that so much violence is directed to women who are alone. On some campuses women cross out the Buddy System signs for women and write "STOP RAPING US." They don't want to use the Buddy System because it is not easy to find people who value them and take the time to be safer. They also do not realize that males hear and use the Buddy System so much more than women so women rebel as though it is just for thier inconvenience.

Our hospitals, schools, churches (Luke 10:1) do not tell us that we need to use the Buddy System consistently and there is no earning a "Patch" for the Girl Scouts for the Buddy System like Boy Scouts earn!

Women are more powerful when they use the Buddy System. Men do not use the Buddy System because they are wimps!

I walked to Jennifer Ewing's memorial on the Silver Comet Trail once with a friend named Kathy on the anniverary of Jennifer's death in 2006 on the Silver Comet Trail. Our pictures are on the blog FearThouNot4.blogspot.com in the older posts. Kathy's adult son wouldn't go with us. He was busy. So we were aware, we used the Buddy System, and we took our cell phones and before going we watched the video JustYellFire.com and had a kubotan and a knife each in our hands. We brought a dog with us. This was before Tina Waddell was accosted and almost died. 

​ Please tell your friends and relatives to go to Music Guru and buy a ticket for the drawing for the Trombone. You can pass it down to your grandchildren with a story that because you entered a drawing, future women avoided the violence of dying alone like Jennifer Ewing.

Yesterday I saw a teal scouter at Emory U. with Buddy 50 on it. Does anyone else look for the word Buddy anywhere? And you know what? There was no other scouter around.

 I am doing Blogging from A to Z for the month of April. K is the letter for today, and I chose to speak about kill. Why? We don't have killing when we have people who are aware, use the Buddy System and have some way of self defense. This world is not so hard to impact with small changes.

Joker

 Joke? Patch Adams believes that laughter helps healing more than serious, overbearing authority. He uses that in medicine! That is why I haven't spent a lot of time putting faces of serial killers or domestic violence deaths or muggings or rapists or the big bad wolf on my blogs or groups on Facebook. Yes, I have groups on Facebook. I have Buddy System, and I have Hug Story. I teach boundaries in a workshop called Cuddle Party TM.  Who could use a boundary workshop? Married couples (no one has to do anything in this workshop). 
Who else? Anyone who doesn't get hugged or touched because they are single from 18 to 100. I have had grandparents come to my workshops. No joke. Every single person there listens to the 30 minute workshop and then practices the activities. 

Clothes did me in!

 There is a picture of a woman in full cover and a woman in a bikini. Both have pity for the other one. Both are just as likely to be raped. What we wear doesn't make rape more likely, no matter what people assume.

Use the Buddy System if at all possible.

How do I get someone to agree to go with me?

 You could keep it a secret that you want to use the Buddy System. That is the easiest way to use the Buddy System. Not the most honest. You could have an understanding of expectations when you use technology to ask someone to go with you. 

Basically you are telling the other person that you are willing to protect and you are asking for protection. Now that is deep!

G is for Ghost

 The most prominent ghost ever is the Holy Ghost. Some people consider the Holy Ghost their awareness. Think about it. The Buddy System is only as good as the effectiveness of the understanding. Be aware. When are you most aware? When you are a wee bit hungry. So if you eat too much and you are ready for a nap? So how does that relate to safety? No one thinks crime will happen to them, so they live their life as though nothing happens. 

Prepare for something exciting. Maybe you will be able to make that split decision that saves your life and someone else as well just because you didn't eat so much you are a wee bit hungry. The Bible says with every prophet to hunger and thirst after righteousness. Impossible if you are sleeping because you ate too much.  What do you think?

The Global Health and Humanitarian Summit at Emory University had a woman who collects toys from around the world that children MAKE THEMSELVES!!!!  How exciting! I made many doll ponchos for them. I enjoyed making children something they might use.

A is for apple

Do colors start with "a" or aubergine the only one I know?

Ponchos didn't work for prostitutes being rescued from sex trafficking. Why?

Then have respectable clothing. Men don't look for women in stripper clothing, they look for normal looking women. 

Today I plan to call organizers and ask for fabric for ponchos. I plan to keep giving them and to keep asking people to make them, and to keep asking people to give them freely.

Why does Charlotte Fairchild like Ponchos?

Because I get bored with what everyone else wears. I know some people who only shop at one store!

I know people who only wear one color!

I know people who only buy clothes for themselves!

Making ponchos hasn't caught on for church groups to give to people in hospitals and nursing homes who are sick. Prayer shawls take so much more time!

Quilters have given me their piles of fabric when they decide to stop making quilts and do something else.  I make ponchos and give them away.

It is a meditation and form of prayer for me.

People who receive ponchos pass them on to other nursing women or keep the poncho as a rememberance of the loved one (sort of like a tattoo that can be touched).

I made magnet snowmen for my family with the poncho my Dad wore every day the last month he breathed on this earth. I glued the fabic on old magnets from calender magnets my insurance rep gave to me over the years.

I can wrap spools from spent sewing machine thread with the fabric and make Christmas ornaments or tassels.

It is art for me to make a poncho. I am wearing art like the lace I sew onto the flannel that was inspired by the movie Seeking a Friend for the End of the World. Have I found that friend? Have you?

Cuddle Parties (R) have always been places for hugs. The Cuddle Party people can join in a friendly way and help people who do not have opportunities to be friends.

What is the benefit of hugging? It helps the immune system. What would happen if kudzu didn't have a dormant season?

YESTERDAY! YESTERDAy! i WORE THIS PONCHO AND IT WAS BEAUTIFUL AND COOL AND i HAD A HOODIE UNDER IT SO THERE WAS A HOOD STICKING OUT. 

AT BELK'S SITTING ROOM BY THE REST ROOM THERE WERE TWO WOMEN AND ONE WAS NURSING A TWO MONTH OLD BABY UNDER A HOT FLEECE MATERIAL.

I said howdy, asked her to try my poncho while I went to the restroom, and she did. She loved it, and the baby loved it and I asked her to tell loads of people about Poncho Power. So she said she would. I also asked her to get many ponchos made so the baby would be happy and she would be happy. Merry Christmas! I need to make many.

NO one ever says no to a poncho when they need one. No one ever says, "That is used, I don't want it!" when they need one. It is humanitarian clothing. I give them and do not sell them. Ponchos are for sale. They don't have to be. They can be gifts. Look up Poncho Power on Youtube!

Core Comfort

Most men die within months of a spouse they were married to for a long time. Women not so much. My Dad came close to death just months after Mom died, and has had so many surgeries since Mom died.

How do you find a Fast Friend?

You can always look at the movie "Seeking a friend for the end of the world," for idea. Or you might ask any woman in a parking lot, neighborhood, trail/park to be your FastFriend. Because you are afraid? Nope. The people in law enforcement and military all ask for the buddy system for prevention. They have weapons and they use the Buddy System for prevention with weapons.

 

If you are a guy, don't ask a woman alone to be your FastFriend. She might have a permit and she might shoot you or worse.

Please give cuddle parties to make this world a little saner. We need comfort and nothing spells comfort like boundaries, communication, and getting to know other people in a real way.

Health Tip: Hiking or Running on a Trail

Don't go it alone

(HealthDay News) -- If you're tired of the same running routine and the same old scenery, consider a new hiking or running trial.
The American Council on Exercise makes these recommendations before you hit the trail for the first time:

• Hike a new trail before you run it, familiarizing yourself with the new layout.
• Don't walk or run a trail alone.
• Carry a communication device, such as a walkie-talkie or cell phone.
• Take a small, basic first aid kit that includes bandages, tape, a knife and antibacterial ointment.
• Make sure any weight you carry is evenly distributed; try to carry most of the weight around your hips.
• When going downhill, keep knees bent and don't lean back too far. Use short strides when hills are steep.
• Run with your head up and push your arms from the shoulders, rather than from the elbows.

Hug Story Party in July

On July 1st, there will be a read through of a Hug Story Empowerment Party. We will meet in the Park in Hiram near 92, and it will be informal in the evening. I am not making reservations, so if it rains, this is cancelled. I want to do a read through so that people will become familiar with the concepts and also get to practice the communication skills. 


And then we can go out to eat if people are hungry. There are many eating places nearby.


Be prepared for a 30 minute read through and role playing. Actors welcome. Musicians welcome. People from Craigslist/Facebook are welcome.

This is free. I have to have more than 8 people to have it count for a class project I am completing.

Healing

Ali still had problems with healing. She still wanted to do things like cook fudge and make things that were so unhealthy. Maybe it was the cold and dreariness of the weather, or the sheer drug of sugar. So she made fudge and got it out of her system. It was the opera fudge she saw in a magazine. She gave away most of it, but ate enough to be high for a little while. Ali knew that it wouldn't keep her cancer free to eat fudge. The supplements and produce diet helped her more than anything. But the people she gave it to were very happy to receive her gifts, and sharing it with so many people helped everyone not go into sugar overload. Cherries and fudge. She made it several times but not for after the opera. An opera house and a bakery/cafe had that tradition in another time.

Ali didn't understand why she was flirting with what made her lethargic and want to sleep. The smell, the process, the time of year or maybe just giving gifts to people as a means to connect with them. She decided to figure out better ways to connect with people than getting high from sugars and the chemicals in the concoction. It didn't take long. Someone gave her something to do with her citrus peels. She slivered the peels into julienne pieces with layers of cheap table salts covering the peels. The salts dried the peels as it freshened the room's smells and vapors and then when water was added, the water could clean out dirty bath tubs or toilets or chrome faucets and when emptied into the trash, the kitty litter smell disappeared she discovered. And the drying peels and salt were interesting to watch.

Knitting a scarf before Christmas was not as fast as crocheting, but she thought it would be prettier for her. She knew her mother-in-law could buy really expensive things, but she also knew that something made with love held its own value.

November 7

She and Ryan gave money to her father. He was too old to work as many hours as he used to at the bakery. He had moved to a place with no stairs, and he still baked. He wouldn’t quit working for love nor money, but he had cut back. Ali knew people who wouldn’t retire even in their 90’s! How amazing they were still so aware that they could do that. He had fallen in love with a patron, and she lived with him now. After Ali’s bout with leukemia, he had reached out to Gladys. She was only a few years younger, and truly easy going.

Gladys didn’t cook, so they either called in or Pop cooked. They did OK. They joined the Senior Center in the county and they spent time there doing things. Playing checkers, reading, talking and just being happy. When they played Bingo, they were so surprised to win sometimes. The prize usually came from the local 5 & Dime store. Some people called those places dollar stores now.

They both liked going to Mass, even when there was controversy, because there was always controversy, but there was more importantly Mass. It wasn’t about controversy. It was about the relationship with God to them.  Sometimes Ryan and Ali joined them in Mass. It was nice going with family, and Ali and Ryan tolerated religion.

Ali had given more than 15 hand knitted scarves over the years to Pop, so she didn’t need to make another for him. Her new Step-mother was a knitter, so Ali would be receiving a new scarf and hat no matter what
